Pricing and Shipping cost

  The price of these products is based on the time it takes to find and collect the raw material, transport it, clean, dry, sift, bottle, package and ship.  This labor intensive process is required to produce a quality product.   Each type of ground cover is sold in large 32oz (volume) bottles.  Each 32oz  (volume)  bottle weighs between 48 -58 oz in weight.  That's up to 3.5 lbs per bottle! 
   Thanks to the USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes, shipping these products is inexpensive!  The table below shows our shipping costs.  The most you will pay for shipping for any number of bottles is only $13.95.

Coverage and Application

Coarse Gray Mix -  Coverage is approximately 3 square feet (1.7ft x 1.7ft) per bottle.  The coarse mix should be used sparsely in a few areas to add texture and rougher terrain.  When purchasing both the Coarse and Fine Gray mix (see below), a general rule of thumb would be to buy one bottle of Coarse Gray mix for every three bottles of Fine Gray Mix.

Ballast -  Coverage is approximately between 6ft to 10ft of linear track depending on how you apply it.   To reduce the expense of using the Premium Ground Cover Ballast we recommend using it as a top coat over less expensive artificial ballast.  After all, most of the ballast is not visible and you can only see what is on the surface.  Using this approach will increase coverage to approximately 18ft to 20ft.  Read this application note for more details.    (Click Here for Ballast application notes)

 
Fine Gray Mix -  For minimum coverage (just enough to cover your plywood) a good rule of thumb is that one 32oz bottle can cover approximately 900 square inches, or about 6.25 square feet (2.5ft x 2.5ft area).  Painting the plywood black first as shown in the Part II DVD allows you to cover more area with the same amount. Medium Gray Ballast Discontinued
The medium gray ballast will be discontinued and replaced with a similar product this summer.  I apologize for any inconvenience.  I still have some small quantities and will try support those who have already started using this product.  Please send me an email if you are interested.
